Usage Survey 2008

Results of The Norwich Door to Door Usage Survey 2008

Thank you to every one who responded to our survey, the results have been formulated by Douglas one of our new Charity trustees. The questionnaire was posted out to the most frequent service users and those who would be able to make comments about the service. One hundred and forty four of the questionnaires were returned and taking into consideration the age, health and sight/reading problems of some members of the group we were delighted to receive such a high 53% response.

Overall you have told us that you are very appreciative of the service and many of you have included unsolicited complimentary comments and told us how “grateful” you are. Nearly half of you 47% have told us that you would like us to provide additional travel in the form of things/entertainment to do and certainly the trips we arranged in August were fully subscribed and well received. We have a list of people who have said they wish to revisit Hoveton and Wroxham with more time to wander and we do aim to fulfil that request and others where resources permit.

We noted that two thirds of you were not regularly collecting the newsletter on the bus and missing out on the news & events programme, so we have decided to invest funds and post to those who have made a request. Note the next event will be the Quiz and Chip evening. There will also be posters on the buses.

We are going to be following up with our Internet active passengers who wish to help us by using the charity search engine Everyclick. In the next few weeks Jonty our UEA volunteer will be telephoning talk you through/assist what is needed. With more people signing up we have the opportunity to earn more points equals £’s.

It is appreciated that the question asking for the major reasons for travel is only representative of the responding group—and in our sample the major reasons were shopping and visits for Health Care appointments. Health Centres especially where these are one stop centres and appointments at the Community Hospital are most used. Lesser reasons for travel were Socialising, Day Centre visits, Leisure and Education.

Rating for safety, of those in our group that responded to this question 113 rated excellent, 17 very good and 5 good. This is encouraging, we have invested heavily over the years in the best equipment and training for our teams. All new and returning passengers are now “Safety Risk Assessed” for specific needs including access to premises and equipment prior to acceptance.

Finally there were a few of you who expressed a particular need/difficulty and where it is within our power & funds permit we will take action & let you know.
