Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Who are we and who can use us?

A. Our service is for disabled people or older people who have severe mobility issues - they will be on low income and living in their own homes. Where there is a need for transport and the public transport services are inaccessible, there is a need for a door to door (dial a ride) service. Our aim is to enable social inclusion and our services are primarily for the purpose of accessing social and leisure activity.

Q. How do we work?

A. We have a membership scheme which costs £10.00 a year to join. Once you have been accepted you can telephone to book a trip. We collect you from your door and take you to an agreed destination within Greater Norwich. All our buses have a rear passenger lift and low steps to the side with grab rail. Our drivers are trained to help you on your journey and they can contact the office base by two way radio if neccessary. Some buses will also have an escort to work with the driver.

Q. What if I am a wheelchair user?

A. No problem, our buses are fully accessible and have special wheelchair clamps and safety seat belts.

Q. What if I need a helping hand?

A. You can bring a friend, guide dog or a relative.

Q. When can I travel?

A. As an individual you can travel Monday to Friday with the first pick up time of 9am the last pick up is 4pm. At weekends and in the evening we take group bookings only.

Q. How do I book a trip?

A. We have a telephone booking service on Norwich 776735. Bookings are on a first come first served basis and we may ask you if you can adjust your journey times slightly. We offer "timed" booking slots, but please allow at least 15 minutes either side of these to allow for traffic and other members needs.

Q. How do I get in touch?

A. If you have a query or would like to let us know what our service means to you please telephone Norwich 776735.

Q. Do you accept Legacies and donations?

A. Leaving Norwich door to door a gift in your will is a wonderful gesture and it will provide the charity and the people we serve with a more secure future. Please remember us in your will or send a donation when you can spare the money and the time. We rely as a charity on the goodwill of others and charitable donations to provide this service - every little counts and we thank you in advance.
