Sponsored Walk 2014

Thank you to those who have returned their emergency contact details and paid their registration.  It will be possible to provide these when you sign in at County Hall on the day.  Other friends, family or colleagues who would still like to join you are most welcome to do so.

There is parking available at the County Hall Site and will be sign posted on the day.

I have advised start times for walkers:

  • The 26 mile full route Norwich to Reedham Register at 8:30am
  • 12.21 miles Norwich to Langley register from 11am onwards
  • 7 miles Norwich to Alderfen, Surlingham Register between 11am onwards

The Ferry Inn in Surlingham is offering meal deals for walkers who arrive before before 1pm:

  • Able to call ahead and order: 07929 059604 / 01502 538689
  • Dog friendly pub.

There are several other places to purchase food and drink along the route (outlined in your mail out)

There will be water available outside Alderfen, Surlingham when you pass.

12 mile walkers: You will collected from Ferry Rd/Norwich Rd past the Beauchamp Arms.  Please advise Ruby when you are near so that we can arrange a prompt pick-up.

26 mile walkers:  We have enlisted the assistance of Humpty Dumpty Brewery to provide a delicious tipple at the finish line to spur you on in those final few miles and congratulate you on walking a marathon journey for Norwich Door to Door.  You are encouraged to cross the river on the Ferry (50p walking passengers) to be welcomed by Lesley of Humpty Dumpty Brewery outside the Reedham Ferry pub and raise a glass for your efforts.

Alderfen, Surlingham – Congratulations and celebration of all your hard work! Refreshments and sweet & savoury snacks will be available including tea, coffee, or some Local Ale a la Humpty Dumpty Brewery.

  • Massages will be available by the wonderful Denise of Urban Escape
  • Bowls of water will be available to rest aching feet
  • Take a moment to rest and relax!

Weather: we recommend wearing layers and sunscreen even if its cooler weather.

Please do not leave litter along the route.
